Meet Kevin Holzbog
In November of 2020, Kevin Holzbog was selected as the Executive Director for the Decatur Economic Development Corporation. The Decatur EDC’s mission is to promote business activity in Decatur through industrial business recruitment, local business retention and expansion as well as workforce development. The Decatur EDC is governed by a board of directors that is made up of local leaders, including Mayor Mike McQuiston, Councilmembers Will Carpenter and Jake Hayes, as well as Wise Health CEO Jason Wren and local businessman Buster Chandler.
Prior to joining the Decatur EDC, Kevin served in economic development positions in both the private and public sectors. His experience brings Decatur a large network of professionals in site selection, industrial development, domestic and international business, local, state and federal governments as well as critical resource partners that increase Decatur’s competitive position for responsible growth.
Kevin’s experience includes leadership in recruiting new industry into Lubbock, Texas where he worked with major companies to create 400 new jobs and over $200,000,000 in new capital investment. Prior to his work in Lubbock he helped to create public private partnerships to drive the redevelopment of historic downtown Bridgeport, Texas into a thriving cultural hub for the community while also recruiting multiple companies to the community creating new jobs and investment for the area.
During his time in Decatur Kevin has led the EDC in successfully recruiting $4,000,000 of new capital investment to the community and is working with both existing and new employers in the community that anticipate creating a total of 250 new jobs in Decatur in the next 36 months.
Kevin has served in leadership capacities on numerous civic and professional boards. Currently he serves on the Texas Economic Development Council Board of Directors and is also on the board of CASA of Wise and Jack Counties. He and his family live in Decatur, Texas.
